Event: Culy Food Festival

Yesterday I went to Culy Food Festival with Joyce, when we first heard about this festival we immediately decided we wanted to go and bought our tickets and I'm glad we did! We had a great day, trying out lots of food and drinks. The festival was held in the Sugar City, in a beautiful old building in Zwanenburg. It used to be a real sugar factory and lots of it is still in place, amazing!

If you want to see more of this festival and see what we ate, click read more!

Everything looked amazing at Dilmah.
We started with a lovely cup of tea and a delicious 'Fermented blackberry macaron' at Dilmah Tea and Desserts. It was delicious. There's enough space to sit down, since it wasn't really crowded yet.

Flammküchen
We met up with Jens and Floor and went to Smokey Goodness to get a lovely pulled pork sandwich and salmon on a bed of couscous. They were both super tasty and I enjoyed every bite.
In line for the goodness.
Pulled Pork Sandwich
Barbecued salmon on a bed of couscous, yum!
Nadia and Merijn's labne bar.
De Sapkar (The Juice Mobile)
Henry's Fish
When we saw the oysters at Henry's Fish cart, Joyce and I decided to try an oyster for the very first time. Henry told us to start with a traditional flavor: Lemon and pepper. We were a bit scared to try, but I'm so glad we did, because it was delicious. Not as 'snotty' as I thought it would be.

Superfresh.
After the oyster, we went to Superfresh for a pear, mint and curd cheese smoothie. They had a fun concept, you order what you want, you'll get a take away box and a grocery list and you take that to their greenhouse where you can take the ingredients you need. At the exit you give your list and ingredients to a cook, who makes it into the dish you ordered (the smoothie for us). Too bad it was a bit of a slow process, lol. But the smoothie was delicious.

Superfresh.
De Eet Apotheek.
Bugs! Yes, I tried them. Not that bad at all.
Curd cheese with granola, fruit and flowers at Superfresh.
Schnacks.
After all the food we were ready for a drink, so we decided to go to Schnacks, where they had cocktails. I choose the raspberry chille cocktail, sweet and spicy! Joyce had a Lychee Ginger cocktail.

My cocktail from Schnacks.
A little snack I shared with Joyce, bitterballen!
Meneer Temaki.
Everything I tasted was really good and I had a great time. The location was beautiful industrial, too bad we were too late to do any of the workshops, which would've made it more worth the money. Because it's not that different than Rolling Kitchens or Food Soul Festival, you don't have to pay an entrance fee for those food festivals and there's more choice in food too.
