Review: Fuji Instax Share SP-1

Instant photography has always been one of my hobbies. I own several Polaroid cameras, but I stopped using it when the film got more and more expensive. I got myself a Fuji Instax Mini, because film for that camera is much more affordable. At the time it was hard to get your hands at that camera, so I was super happy when I finally got it. Right now those cameras are sold everywhere and so is the film! I've used it for a couple of years, but in the end I didn't use it as much as I would like to. It's pretty hard to get the settings right, my photos often came out too light, too dark, or out of focus. Now the film is affordable, but it's certainly not cheap. So I ended up not using it anymore, because I was scared to ruin more of the film.

A couple of months ago I found out they made a new Instant device. The Fuji Instax Share. It was just what I was looking for! It's an instant printer that uses the same film as the Fuji Instax Mini (so I could use the film I already bought once). The big difference is, you can print the photos from your phone! This means, every picture comes out just the way you want. So no ruined film anymore, the first day I got this baby at home I finished a whole pack of film!

It's really easy to use, you download the app, you connect your phone with it through wifi, you make a photo or pick one from your film roll, there are some editting options and you just press Print! I already thought up some projects I want to do with my photos and I'll share the DIY's here on my blog.

Florida Roadtrip: Universal Studios

This vacation a dream of mine came true, as a real Harry Potter fan I really wanted to go to Universal Studios to see the Harry Potter areas and Oh my Gosh, it was awesome. I felt like I was walking in the books when we wandered through Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley and Hogwarts. It's so beautifully made, every detail was thought of. I made lots of photos and it was hard just to pick a couple. But here they are, our day at Universal Studios. We were pretty early, so we had short waiting lines for the roller coasters, fun!

We had an amazing day, I advise you (if you ever want to go) to buy your entrance tickets in advance and get there early. We went on a tuesday and that was the best day to go that week. You can check online to see when the park is least crowded. We only had a waiting line at The Escape from Gringotts ride, but that was because one of the carts broke down. Thankfully the waiting lines are pretty amazing too!

Photo Walk: Zaanse Schans

The Zaanse Schans is one of the biggest local attractions for tourists. It's an outdoor museum with the old green houses and windmills that Zaandam is known for. People actually still live there! So when we finally had a blue sky I decided to go on a little photo walk and join the tourists in my own town. Here are the photos:

Snippets of my life #63: Our Christmas days

Christmas is already over and we've had amazing days. We hung out with our families, had lots of food, presents and fun! I made lots of photos and I decided I want to share some of them right here, on my blog.

Around here: Ready for Santa

Hey there! Are you having a good sunday? I sure am and I want to share a little bit of my day right here. We decided to decorate the house for Christmas, so we put up the tree, lit up the candles and some extra lights. It's so cozy right now. This will be our last Christmas in our little apartment (hopefully!), so I wanted to take some photos, to remember how this place looked!

A day at the zoo (Artis, Amsterdam)

A couple of weeks ago, we went on a spontaneous trip to Artis, the zoo in Amsterdam. I've been there a lot of times with school, but Wouter hadn't been there for years and couldn't really remember anything about it. So on a saturday, the weather was super nice, we went to the zoo! Doel: Exploring a Ghost Town

Today I'm sharing more photos from our roadtrip to the abandoned village, Doel. You can see part one right here. There's a lot of beautiful street art that really inspired me to get more creative with my paint and spray paint. Maybe I'll go back to painting this winter. We've explored the streets, some abandoned houses and an old garage.

Doel: A Roadtrip to a Ghost Town

On the road!

Lately I've been very interested in abandoned places, so when I learned about Doel, a little ghost village in Belgium, I was sold. I wanted to go there! Just over the border and only a 2,5 hour ride from home. So I contacted my friend Melissa, if she and her boyfriend wanted to go with us on this roadtrip. They did, a date was set and sunday the 13th we went on this adventure. I forgot my camera (left it in a different car, stupid!), so all photos are made with my phone or Melissa's GoPro.

So about Doel. It's a tiny village, scheduled to be completely destroyed to make room for an expanding harbor. Every protest and the incredible street art cannot stop te inevitable destruction. Today there are 25 inhabitants left, who wont leave their house. Meanwhile this village has been transformed into an artistic playground with a post-apocalyptic atmosphere.

We kinda were expecting empty streets and grumpy inhabitants, who are not happy with the 'disaster tourism'. But when we arrived there was a huge sign with all kinds of warning and a poster  announcing a flee market, lol. So we weren't the only ones there.
