I make a lot of pictures with my phone and my favorite app Instagram. Every week I'm showing some of them here. Showing you snippets of my life :)

Suddenly it was very cold here for two days.

I tried on a nose ring in stead of a stud. Not sure if I like it though..

I saw this shirt at Primark when I was out of money. Going back there next friday, fingers crossed they still have it!

I made this delicious dinner last saturday. Brussel sprouts, with a sausage, some nuts, salt en pepper! Yum!

And here's week one! I made an Ajaxcake for my little brother, started an Art Journal workshop, went out for dinner and lunch with friends and saw a beautiful sunrise!

I made a little box for some paper scraps I trimmed down to 6x7" (10x15 cm) I also made a guide from cardstock, to make the trimming a bit easier and faster:

I decided to do Project Life this year. One page a week, every week, documenting my daily life and all fun stuff I do. This first page represents my title page and some photos from NYE.

I like it already and I hope I will keep up with this. It would be awesome to have a whole album filled by the end of the year. Too bad the scrapbookstore I've bought my sheets at sent me the wrong ones. And I've been trying to contact them for weeks by email and phone, but no one answers my calls. I ordered at Scrapbookwinkel.nl, shitty store. Never gonna by anything there ever.

Yesterday I stumbled upon a Etsy shop: Theater Clouds.

I make these images by inking yupo paper and cutting it into layers that I set up in a miniature theater. I play with the lights and filters to create atmosphere and then photograph the scenes.

So we decided to decorate our livingroom (finally!) we've been living here for two years now and our walls are still very empty and white. So last saturday was our first time ever on a crafty market. We've spent SO many hours just making stuff to fill our stand, get everything labeled and pretty. And it was worth it. Our stand looked fabulous! Too bad the location wasn't really good, and there weren't a lot people, but we're definitely trying again, but on another location!

And not just any Harry Potter book. Let me introduce you to my pride: The Special Edition Harry Potter Boxed Set. A mouth full :). A very special boxed set of the complete seven titles in this phenomenal bestselling series. Each book has cloth binding, a ribbon bookmark, gilt-edged pages and gold foiling on its cover. All the book in it's box with a ribbon with no actual function than looking pretty :)

The sides have a golden Hogwarts Express imprint on them.

One of the books, the pages have 'golden' edges, loving that detail!

Off course I own them all in Dutch too ^__^. But too bad they're not hardcover though..

Gift Wrapping

A lot of people ask money for their birthdays. I understand, I like to get money too, but it isn't always fun to give, specially when it's your dad! So I wanted to make him something pretty to go with it. First I've made this 'money envelope'.

Added a little personal note..

Later that week I (well, actually a friend) found a Scrabble game, which he likes to play. It was thrifted, so a perfect thing to go with the money. I also added a Scrabble Magnet with SRF, his initials. I like me some fancy giftwrapping, so I added a doily:

Because O.P.I. Rally Pretty Pink was still on there and looking great as always, I just added a layer of Black Shatter on there. I love the effect, it looks like lava :)

Recipe: Simple Spicy Salad

Here's what you need:

A bag of mixed salad (I got baby salad with rocket), a bell pepper, a tomato, some baby tomatoes, pine nuts, a small onion, one garlic part, soft goat's cheese, piri piri oil, olive oil, salt and pepper.

Cut the bell pepper and garlic in small pieces:

Grill the pine nuts with some fresh crushed sea salt:

You should do it with less blackness on there hee hee >.<

Put 2 table spoons of piri piri oil and 1 table spoon of olive oil in a saucepan, when it's hot add the bell pepper and garlic and let it stew for a few minutes.

Place the salad mix on a plate, I like to chop it in smaller pieces, bitesize!

Before you get the spicy mixture out of the pot, add the chopped tomato and just stir it through.

Add it to your salad, it's okay if it's still moisty from the oils, cause this is your dressing too. Also add some baby tomatoes for decoration.

Finally add a boiled egg, the goat's cheese in little pieces and the grilled pine nuts.

And there you go! Easy peacy lemonsqueezy! We like to add some fresh baked bread and tasty aïoli.

After reading the first three books of Christopher Paolini's Inheritance Cycle (the fourth will be out in november, eek!) I saw this book on Bol.com. I just had to have it. Because I loved reading the Inheritance Cycle and because of the beautiful artwork and fun little extra's.

Crete #04: Samariá Gorge

the gorge is 16 km long, starting at an altitude of 1,250 m at the northern entrance, and ending at the shores of the Libyan Sea in Agia Roumeli. The most famous part of the gorge is the stretch known as the Iron Gates, where the sides of the gorge close in to a width of only three meters and soar up to a height of 1,100m (3,610feet)

Crete #03: A trip to Elafonisi

We signed up for a little trip to Elafonisi, but before we get there we had some stops at fun places. First a family where we got goatscheese snacks and next a cave 'Agia Sofia'.

Elafonisi (Greek: Ελαφονήσι [elafoˈnisi] "deer island") is an island located close to the southwestern corner of Crete. When the weather is fine it is possible to walk to the island through the shallow water. The island is a protected nature reserve.

Last stop: Elafonisi, known for it's beautiful colored water and it's bad history (On Easter sunday of 24 April 1824 prox 850 Greeks, mostly women and children, were killed on Elafonisi by Ottoman soldiers)

After a pause for a swim and a bite, we got on this boat which brought us to our tourbus to bring us back to our apartment.

Crete #02: Chania

Ghania is the second largest city of Crete. They have a nice little harbour with loads of restaurants and little tourists shops. We've been there two times in our vacation.

Crete #01: Chryssida Apartments

For our 2011 vacation the Mister and I went to Crete, Greece. We booked an apartment in Agia Marina (next to Ghania) at Chryssida Apartments. It's beautiful there. The pool, the flowers, the setup of the apartments.. Above the swimming pool and the bar/restaurant.
